The Cumming Fairgrounds, home of the “Cumming Country Fair and Festival”, was established in 1995. In October of 1995 the Cumming Fairgrounds host the first 5 day fair in Cumming and has continued to grow ever since. Now, the Fairgrounds hosts many exciting events such as the IPRA World Championship Rodeo, the Steam and Gas Engine Expo, a weekly Farmers Market during the summer, July 4th Celebration, and our signature event the Cumming Country Fair & Festival, which has grown from 5 days to an 11 day event. The fair is an affordable family outing providing entertainment around every corner. There is free daily attractions, free concerts, discount days and free living history exhibits in the Heritage and Indian Villages. Within the Fairgrounds we have a Heritage Village with working demonstrations of authentic farm machinery such as a cotton gin, corn mill, syrup mill, chicken house, grist mill, blacksmith shop, sawmill, moonshine still and a cider press which are operated during certain events. We also have an early 1900’s rural township with reproductions of a doctor’s office, art deco barber shop, dentist office, printing press, one-room schoolhouse, churches, general store, working post office and more!
The Indian Village represents our rich Cherokee heritage in Forsyth County. The village is home to one of chief James Vann’s taverns, which originally was near the Etowah River on Old Federal Road. During certain events the village is alive with Native American dance, music and culture.
In 2001 the City of Cumming added a 44,000 square foot covered arena with a permanent seating capacity of 3,051 and expanded seating of 6,000. With such a facility we were able to host events such as the IPRA World Championship Rodeo and live entertainment during the Cumming Country Fair and Festival.
The Cumming Fairgrounds is host to many other community events such as: The Taste of Forsyth, Relay for Life, Laps for Life, Mt. Pisgah Auto Crusade, Christmas in Cumming Arts & Crafts Show, Graduations, Recreation & Parks Special Events, Business Picnics and home to the North Georgia Quarter Midget Association. We invite you to come join in the Down Home Country Fun.
